Experiencing travel without being the tourist…

If you’re truly ready to enjoy the next trip, then why not grab a companion and head out? Forget the crowded tour bus, the gigantic cruise ship or waiting for the slowest tourist to catch up! For many years, I have been self planning and executing journeys all around the world - and have survived to tell my stories on this blog. I will share experiences, some tips and mostly some ideas for places of interest in the event you want to be your own “Agentless Adventurer”. In an era of Do-It-Yourselves (DIY) so it too, is possible to travel without the assistance or guidance of a travel agent or host. I am not a twenty-something wanderer that can advise on how to get around the world on less than $50 a day! There are great sites out in cyber world that can help if you’re of that genre. My career days are gone now and I have come to enjoy leisurely travel with some creature comforts. That does not mean I sit around or lay around reading books when I arrive at my destination of interest! I do hike, bike, ride a motorcycle or jump on a horse and take in the country. Zip lines are exciting in Costa Rica, biking through the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam is awesome and white water rafting in West Virginia is “wild and wonderful”! Although over the mature age of sixty-something, I still feel much alive when I head out onto an open road seeking my next adventure.
