Parking is abundant at the RIverwalk area…so it’s good to begin there. Taking the Blackwater Creek Trail, you’ll soon enter the Hollins Mill Tunnel.

At the Blackwater Bridge, you may wonder why it’s named Blackwater Creek when it’s clearly brown (after the heavy rains).

Regardless of age; easy riding for you and the grandkids, or your kids or just for your leisure.

3 miles of gradual ascending paved pathway following the cut of the Blackwater, you’ll arrive at the Awareness Garden. Great pit stop for a snack, look around and restroom break before returning to your beginning.

But on your return trip be sure to take the Point of Honor Trail at the 2.0 mile mark juncture making the return closer to the banks of the Blackwater Creek (adding about another mile of downhill) making your journey about 7.5 miles total.
